Manager, Quality Control

MetaSource is seeking a dynamic detail oriented employee to join its Mortgage team in our Draper, Utah office.

What does a Manager, Quality Control do?

The Manager of Quality Control is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving a robust quality control system that ensures all audit deficiency patterns and trends are discovered, highlighted, and communicated to production management and training leadership, to ensure appropriate root-cause analysis is conducted and appropriate solutions are implemented.


  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain a quality control system for Mortgage Services Operations
  • Identify the appropriate quality metrics for the organization and design, develop, and implement an accompanying reporting system
  • Highlight where proper quality levels according to mortgage audit regulation guidelines are not being met and provide feedback to appropriate department leadership
  • Review and validate a statistical sampling of completed loans from Production Operators and Underwriting Review Auditor to ensure that audit personnel:
    • Conduct in-depth reviews of automated underwriting systems feedback
    • Validate Underwriting decisions based on quality of loan file
    • Complete agency guideline review and interpretation to validate Lender has met the documentation requirements applicable to the loan type
    • Complete extensive review of mortgage loan files and reports whether all required documentation is present
    • Conduct asset and income re-calculation per agency requirements
    • Calculate income for self-employed borrowers utilizing personal and business tax returns
    • Determine if minimum investment has been properly documented, sourced and seasoned for loan file per Agency program requirements
    • Assess collateral acceptability through desk appraisal review
    • Review multiple mortgage closing documents, for accuracy and ensures compliance with Agency requirements 
    • Analyze credit reports for Fraud Alerts and other red flags
    • Conduct trade line comparison/liability and minimum payment accuracy per liability type
  • Maintain current knowledge of mortgage industry compliance guidelines such as FHLMC, FNMA, FHA, VA, USDA, etc.
  • Collaborates with clients, investors and business partners as a representative of Metasource


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years' mortgage underwriting experience and/or 8+ years' mortgage auditing experience
  • Knowledge of FHA, VA, USDA, FNMA, and FHLMC agency guidelines
  • Current experience in TRID compliance preferred
  • Experience using loan underwriting/organization systems
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and manage a team
